FIRE!!!

I have to confess: I am on fire.  Yesterday I started to make some Dresden Plates out of the blue. No thinking, I just knew that I love tangerine and turquoise and finally took my extremely loved botany fabrics out of the pile. After I finished the first plate I wanted to go on, allthough it already was very late.But I couldn´t stop. They are so cute, so cool, I would love to make a huge version and make asummer skirt out of it. But for now I think it will be a really wonderful new quilt for my bed. The first big one in a long time. I would love to skip work today just to go on making dresdens, but....

Ich muß gestehen: Ich brenne!!! Gestern habe ich ganz spontan  ein paar Dresden Plates gemacht. Ich hab gar nicht nachgedacht, ich wußte nur ich wollte tangerine und türkis verwenden und hab auch endlich ein paar von den Botany Stoffen aus dem Stapel gezogen, die ich total liebe. Nach dem ersten Teller, konnte ich gar nicht aufhören, obwohl es schon ziemlich spät war. Sie sind so süß, so cool. Schön wäre auch eine große Version als Rock, aber zuerst wird es wohl ein großer Quilt für mein Bett werden. Der erste große Quilt seit längerem. Ach wie gerne würde ich heute die Arbeit sausen lassen und weiternähen...
Warst Du in letzter Zeit auch so gefesselt von einem Projekt?

Long time no see/Lange nicht gesehen

Ja ich bin busy! Ich weiß nicht wo die Zeit bleibt und leider komme ich momentan wenig zum Patchworken/Quilten. Das ist sehr schade. Aber gestern habe ich mir die Zeit genomen um das Kissen fertig zu machen, bei dessen Finishing ich jäh von diesem kleinen Zwischenfall unterbrochen wurde. Irgendwie steht diese Kissenhülle auch unter keinem guten Stern, denn nachdem ich sie endlich fertig hatte mußte ich feststellen, daß sie viel zu groß ist ... da war ich wohl irgendwie konfus... Also gestern Abend schön das Binding abgetrennt, Kissen verkleinert und erneut fertig gemacht. Und was passiert? Die Größe stimmt immer noch nicht. Ich mag das ja lieber, wenn die Hülle prall gefüllt ist. Dem ist jetzt nicht so. Aber ehrlich auf ein zweites Mal auftrennen hab ich gerade echt keine Lust... Is mir egal ich laß das jetzt so!!!

Yes I am busy! I don´t know where time flies and unfortunately I can´t manage to quilt a lot. I am really sad about that. Well but yesterday I found a little time to finish the pillow cover which I couldn´t finish because of this incident.  And somehow, the cover has written "problem" on it, because after I finally finished it yesterday evening I noticed that it is way too big. So I unripped the binding, made it smaller and sew it together again, and guess what? Still to big. I like me a very filled pillowcover, and this isn´t. But you now what I don´t care I leave it like that!

Ausserdem bin ich vor einiger Zeit auf den Zug aufgesprungen und versuche meiner Reste Frau zu werden. Da ich schon längst mal einen Log Cabin Quilt nähen wollte, kamen mir meine Unmengen an 2,5" Streifen gerade Recht. Zuerst dachte ich ich mache einen Babyquilt, aber jetzt gefällt mir das Ergebnis so gut, daß ich wohl noch sechs weitere Blöcke fertigen werde und dann eine fröhliche Couchdecke oder einen Picknick Quilt  mache.

Ich habe noch zwei Tage frei, im Besten Falle komme ich nochmal zum Nähen und vielleicht berichte ich Euch dann davon... Alles Liebe erstmal.

Well further on I jumped on the bandwagon and started to scrap attack! I always wanted to make a scrappy Log Cabin Quilt. First I thought a babyquilt would be nice, but now I like it so much, that I will ad 6 more blocks and make myself a comfy lap quilt, or a nice picknick quilt.
I still have two more days of, I hope I can go on sewing a little bit, if yes I am sure I will tell you!

Tova #2 or "How to clean the house?"

 I made myself another Tova Shirt a few weeks ago. I used my extremely beloved Melody Miller Ruby Star Spring fabric. After finishing I have to say, I am not totally sure about it.

I habe mir kürzlich noch eine Tova  gemacht. Dafür habe ich meinen geliebten Melody Miller Ruby Star Spring Stoff benutzt. Nach Beendigung und näherer Betrachtung muß ich sagen, daß ich mir nicht so sicher bin wie ich sie finden soll.

Ich fühle mich ein bißchen wie eine Mischung  aus einer siebziger Jahre Hausfrau und einem von Pradas Model von der letzten Kollektion (mit anderem Gesicht und Körper natürlich...). Somit bin ich also entweder die unstylischste Person überhaupt, oder eben so was von hip.
Was denkt Ihr?

I think all in all it is fun, and I will wear it in summer light Jeans and Thongs.

 Alles in allem, find ich sie ganz lustig und ich denke ich werde sie im Sommer mit dünnen Jeans und Flip Flops tragen...

Mug Rug Happiness!

Ich habe beim Spring Mug Rug Swap mitgemacht. Gestern bekam ich ein wunderbares Päckchen aus den USA. Der "Tassenteppich" der darin war, ist der schönste den ich mir für mich vorstellen konnte. Ich bin ganz aus dem Häußchen, weil er so extrem gut in meine Wohnung passt. Die Künstlerin (anders kann ich es nicht sagen) hat ganz genau hingeschaut, wer ich bin, was ich mag und es perfekt umgesetzt. Ich bin ganz ganz glücklich über diese Kunstwerk! Vielen Dank an Ruth!

I participated in the spring mug rug swap. Yesterday I received  a wonderful package from the US. The Mug Rug which was inside is the most beautiful one I could imagine. I am so amazed, because I suits my appartement so perfectly. The artist( thats what she is!) stalked me perfectly, found out what I like and put it in her artwork. I am really happy about my piece of art. Thank you so much Ruth!

Recess Babyquilt

For all of you who asked, I am fine, thank you. My hand is getting better, I could remove the big bandage today, and it actually looked and felt less terrible than I imagined.

Fortunately I wanted to show you my little babyquilt anyways. I finished this one a little while ago. It was really fun making it. I used three charmpacks for it, one with different shades of white and two recess, cut wedges with my easy dresden ruler. Then I put them all in the drawer of my sewing table and gave them a good mix. Afterwards I took one after another without looking an sewed them together.
When I had a few strips, I sewed these together and voila!
I really like it. Because there is no baby in my surrounding at the moment, the little quilt went into my shop.
I wish you guys a nice easter time and I am so happy that I can use my hand nearly properly, ´cause I am itching to sew a little bit in my free days...

 Für alle, die gefragt haben, mir gehts gut, danke! Meine Hand heilt. Ich habe heute den großen Verband abgenommen und es sieht weniger schlimm aus als ich dachte, und tut auch gar nicht mehr weh.
Zum Glück wollte ich Euch eh noch den kleinen Babyquilt zeigen, den ich kürzlich fertiggestellt habe. Ihn zu machen hat echt Spaß gemacht. Ich habe drei Charmpacks dafür verwendet, einen in verschiedenen Schattierungen von weiß und zwei von recess. Dann habe ich mit dem easy dresden ruler Stücke geschnitten und in einer Schublade meines Nähmaschinentisches gemischt. Beim Nähen habe ich ohne hinzuschauen die Stoffstücke herausgenommen und aneinander gesetzt.

Nachdem ich ein paar Streifen zusammen hatte, habe ich diese aneinandergenäht und voila!
Ich mag diesen kleinen Quilt sehr. Weil jedoch momentan kein Baby in meiner näheren Umgebung in Sicht ist, wandert die Decke in den Shop.
Frohe Ostern Euch. Ich bin froh, daß ich die Hand fast wieder komplett einsetzen kann, denn ich freu mich schon seit Wochen auf etwas freie Zeit zum Nähen...
